Stretch Wrap & Pallet Wrap for Secure Load Unitization
Pallet wrap, hand stretch film, machine stretch film, and specialty wrap — everything you need to secure loads for storage and transit.
Stretch wrap (also known as stretch film or pallet wrap) is essential for securing pallet loads, bundling products, and protecting goods in transit. It provides a tight, secure hold that keeps products unitized, reduces load shifting, and protects against dust, moisture, and pilferage.
Material Handling USA stocks stretch wrap for every application. Hand stretch film is available in standard 80-gauge, pre-stretched, and extended-core formats for easy manual wrapping. Machine stretch film in 1,500-foot rolls is designed for automated and semi-automated stretch wrap equipment.
Specialty options include black opaque stretch wrap for concealing pallet contents, colored stretch wrap for load identification and inventory management, VCI stretch wrap for corrosion protection, and anti-static wrap for sensitive electronics.
All stretch wrap is sold by the roll or by the case. We stock leading brands and offer competitive bulk pricing. Our pallet covers and bin liners complement stretch wrap for complete pallet protection.

Frequently Asked Questions
What gauge stretch wrap should I use?
Standard hand stretch film is 80 gauge (0.80 mil) — suitable for most pallets under 2,500 lbs. For heavier or irregular loads, use 90–120 gauge. Pre-stretch film is thinner (47–60 gauge) but pre-elongated, offering excellent strength at lower cost-per-pallet.
How many wraps of stretch film does a pallet need?
A standard pallet typically needs 3–5 wraps at the base (for the rope effect and pallet attachment) and 2–3 overlapping wraps up the sides. Heavy or unstable loads may need 5–7 total wraps. Always start at the pallet base and work up, overlapping by 50%.
What's the difference between hand stretch wrap and machine stretch wrap?
Hand stretch wrap is applied manually — rolls typically are 18" wide and have extended cores or hand grips. Machine stretch wrap is applied by automated stretch wrap equipment — rolls are 20" wide, 1,500 feet long, and have a 3" core. Machine application is 3–5x faster than hand wrapping for high-volume operations.
Do you carry pallet covers?
Yes — we stock clear and black pallet covers in standard pallet sizes as well as gusseted bin liners. Pallet covers protect against dust, moisture, and UV exposure for outdoor storage.
