Wire Shelving Advantages

• Excellent airflow and visibility — ideal for temperature-controlled, cold rooms, or anywhere humidity can collect
• Very good corrosion resistance, especially when polymer or chrome plated
• Light and open aesthetics, perfect for retail backrooms or display storage where appearance counts
• Easy to reconfigure with snap-on clips and wide range of accessories (ledges, dividers, casters)
• Generally lighter price point on standard duty

Inferior Aspects of Wire

• Lower point load on the mesh — not great for very small box feet or heavy concentrated weight without decking
• Items can tip or fall through on larger spans if you don’t add solid surface over wire
• Higher maintenance if you need to place lots of small loose parts on open wire
