Rivet Shelving with Wire Deck

Rivet Shelving With Wire Deck 800-326-4403

This was a project for the Salt Lake Community College. The college needs shelving for the normal supplies any business would need and some for student class projects and inventory. In either case, it needs to be a quality product with a clean look and strength to last. The reason good quality in a strong shelving product that will last is, colleges need to keep tuition and overhead operating costs as low as possible while buying shelving that will never have to be replaced.

This project was for the Salt Lake Community College Jordan Campus. They remodeled their student center. The manufacturer for the Boltless Shelving with Wire Decking was Jaken. Fast Rak was installed in the same room and is shown in a picture below. They both have wire decking because they are used in the custodial room, and they didn’t want to risk damaging any particleboard decking with liquids.

Is it ok to put rivet shelving with wire deck on wheels?

It is generally possible to put rivet shelving with wire deck on wheels, however, there are some considerations to keep in mind.

Firstly, the weight capacity of the shelving must be taken into account as adding wheels and rolling the shelving can increase the load on the unit. It is important to ensure that the wheels can support the weight of the shelving and its contents without compromising its stability or safety.

Secondly, the size and placement of the wheels should be considered. Swivel casters can provide maneuverability, however, it may also make the shelving less stable. Placing the wheels on one end of the shelving versus all four corners can also impact the stability of the unit.

Finally, it is important to consider the environment in which the shelving will be used. For example, if the floor is not level, adding wheels to the shelving can cause it to wobble or tip over.

Overall, if the considerations mentioned above are taken into account, it is generally ok to put rivet shelving with wire deck on wheels. This can provide greater flexibility for the storage system and make it easier to move around as needed.
